Gymnastics regionals are set. Here is who the Utah Red Rocks will face.

The Red Rocks are looking to make their 48th consecutive appearance at the national championships.

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utah cheers on their teammates during the Pac-12 Gymnastics Championships, at the Maverik Center in West Valley City on Saturday, March 23, 2024.

The task of winning a Pac-12 Championship is done. Now the Utah Red Rocks are setting their sights on making it to the national championships for the 48th consecutive year.

But before they get to the biggest stage in NCAA gymnastics, Utah will have to finish in the top two at the NCAA Regional on April 5 and Regional Final on April 7. The Red Rocks on Monday learned who their opponents will be for the regional.

No. 5 Utah will compete against No. 12 Michigan State, Towson and Maryland in the afternoon session in Gainesville, Florida, at 11 a.m. MT. The evening session on that day will include No. 4 Florida, No. 13 Missouri, Georgia, and the winner of the play-in round between Clemson and Iowa State.

The national championships will be held April 18-20 in Fort Worth, Texas.

“At this point moving forward, it really comes down to the details,” coach Carly Dockendorf said Saturday. “Everyone is really into gymnastics in the regional tournament and obviously the finals. It comes down to who’s hitting the handstands, who’s got a little better pointed toe, who can hold the stick a little bit cleaner.”
