Real Salt Lake hit a high gear in its pursuit of a Major League Playoff spot on Saturday night in Sandy.

RSL got two goals from Sergi Solans and benefitted from the ejection of a St. Louis City SC player to notch a 3-0 victory, stretching its unbeaten streak to three games (one draw and two wins).

Solans tapped in the opening goal in the 41st minute with an assist from Morgan Guilavogui.

Three minutes later, St. Louis’ Tomas Ostrak received his second yellow card of the game and was ejected, leaving City to play the entire second half with 10 men.

Dominik Marczuk doubled RSL’s lead in the 52nd minute with an assist from Luc de Fougerolles.

Solans scored his second goal of the game in the 59th minute, with assists from Saba Lobjanidze and Guilavogui.

RSL (11-14-6, 39 points) remains in 10th place in the Western Conference, but moved within one point of the ninth-place LA Galaxy. Nine teams from each conference will qualify for the postseason.

The Galaxy will face LAFC on Sunday.

RSL now has three regular-season games left — Wednesday at Austin, next Saturday at San Jose, and on Nov. 7 at home against the LA Galaxy.
