Real Salt Lake will have two months to think about its 1-1 draw with Minnesota United FC on Saturday.

RSL was headed for a victory in St. Paul, Minn., before giving up a goal in the 93rd minute and settling for a tie as Major League Soccer heads into a long break for this summer’s World Cup.

After scoring in the 22nd minute, RSL held the lead until giving up the equalizer in second-half stoppage time. The draw extended RSL’s unbeaten streak to three games.

Minnesota scored off a set piece, with Michael Boxall throwing the ball in to Joaquin Pereyra, who lobbed a pass to Mauricio Gonzalez in the crowded box. Gonzalez sent a header past RSL goalkeeper Rafael Cabral to tie the game.

Midfielder Zach Booth scored his first MLS goal in the 22nd minute to give RSL a 1-0 lead. Zavier Gozo sent a pass to Booth on the right side of the box, and Booth drilled a shot past Minnesota goalkeeper Drake Callender.

Minnesota had an 11-8 advantage in shots in the game, including a 2-1 edge in shots on target.

The draw left RSL (8-4-2) in third place in the Western Conference, while Minnesota (6-5-4) moved up to sixth place.

RSL is scheduled to return to action on July 22 at LAFC (8:30 p.m. MDT, Apple TV, FS1).
