BYU still may not play a full football schedule in 2020, but the Cougars seem to be getting closer to that, almost on a daily basis.

According to Brett McMurphy of Stadium, BYU has come to an agreement with UTSA to play Oct. 10. The report comes a day after Keff Ciardello, Texas State football beat reporter for the Austin Statesman, tweeted that BYU would be playing Texas State Oct. 3.

The addition of both games would fill out the Cougars’ schedule to seven games.

BYU has been scrambling to find replacement games after multiple conferences opted to cancel the fall season due to the ongoing pandemic. Only two of BYU’s originally-scheduled opponents have not canceled (Houston and North Alabama). So far, BYU has added Navy, Army and Troy to its depleted schedule.

The Cougars are less than three weeks away from opening the 2020 season, Sept. 7 at Navy.
