Alyssa Meadows

School: Corner Canyon

Grade: Senior

Sports: Golf, Swimming, Mountain Biking

Alyssa Meadows plays it close to the vest with her fellow competitors — no matter which sports she’s competing in.

“Most of the time, they don’t realize I do more than one,” she said. “They only know me from the one experience.”

But it’s not just that Meadows is heavily involved in three different sports at Corner Canyon that’s impressive, it’s how radically different the sports are.

The senior has just transitioned from swimming, where she qualified individually for state in the breaststroke, into the golf season.

And the links Ihave been kind to Meadows so far. She shot a 70 last week at The Ridge course in West Valley City.

“That is my best score, that was really quite nice,” said Meadows, who finished 6th at the Class 6A state tournament last year.

“I really think that playing more golf in the summertime, not burning out and doing a bunch of different things, has really helped me,” she said.

Come summer, right before she plans on attending BYU, Meadows plans on competing again in the NICA mountain bike circuit.

“Usually they ask, ‘How do you do balance all of that, how do you manage all of that?’” she said. “Lucky for me, they’re all different seasons.”
