LDS mothers have known for years that the way to get packages delivered to missionaries in third world countries is to put stickers showing Jesus on the outside.

With that in mind, I am pondering the U.S. Supreme Court allowing Donald Trump to tell the U.S. Postal Service who it can deliver mail to, based on Trump’s decision of who is allowed to receive a mailed ballot.

Mail is mail and used to be sacrosanct. Now, one has to wonder where it will end once it is established that the president can stop mail deliveries based on political lies, or just because he says so.

Trump says the Democratic Party — pardon me, “Dumb-o-crat” — is committing treason by opposing Trump. Democratic Party mail obviously can no longer go.

Trump is collecting state voter lists to enable this. I wonder how I, a mere mortal not registered Republican, can be assured my subversive letters and politically incorrect bill payments won’t fall victim?

I better get a supply of stickers with Trump’s face on them.

I can put them right next to the flag stamps I use, carefully positioned upside down.

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
