You guys heard about an election coming up? Maybe you’ve already registered to vote. Maybe you’ve picked a reliable method of voting — within our current election framework. Maybe you’re donating to your candidate of choice. Awesome. Yet it may not matter.
No, not because Utah Republicans are going to win again. Because whoever gets elected will be forced to raise taxes.
Civil societies (remember those?) solve problems through a mix of laws and free markets.
We examine the smallest details imaginable, for that is where the secret of the answer is hidden.
We examine the largest features imaginable, for that is where the secret of the answer is hidden.
We then argue a lot, disagree better, change some laws, and attempt to change human behavior.
That takes a shed-load of money, even when we had a Constitution, a functioning judicial system and a stable world economy.
Republicans promised solutions for everything, all without science, women, or young people. Why should Democrats get blamed for raising taxes?
