Dear Utah members of Congress,
Once again, you and your Trump-enabling colleagues have done your part to preserve the “Trump imperialistic regime.” This time by elevating another of the “worst of the worst” to a position of high authority in the administration. As an editorial in The Philadelphia Inquirer concludes, Todd Blanche “has no business being attorney general . . . [since even in his acting capacity he has] tarnished the independence and trust in the Justice Department.” As a “former” attorney for President Trump and preventer of any meaningful action regarding the Epstein files, who can honestly insist there is no conflict of interest?
When is enough going to be enough? Let me guess: When a Democratic president once again inhabits the White House you will magically (or miraculously) regain a conscience and spine and will rise up in indignation against brazen open corruption, abuse of pardon power and massive self-enrichment. Disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law and violation of the true balance of power between the branches of government will no longer be “in fashion” for Republicans!
But not yet!
How hypocritical can you get? When Trump speaks of the “weaponization of the Justice Department under Biden” while using his truly weaponized Justice Department to pursue and punish his political “enemies?” Or how about continuing to claim — without evidence — that the 2020 election was “rigged” while simultaneously working overtime to rig our next elections in favor of Republicans?
These are just a couple from a long list of disgusting Republican “accomplishments.” And what have you done for ordinary American voters? Nothing! Billionaires and large corporations are doing just fine, while the rest of us are paying higher prices for everything as the result of tariffs and a pointless “war of choice” in Iran.
I promise you, we — and history — will remember this Republican stain on our country and your part in it! I am a former Republican who says, “Never again!”
