As a Republican woman, public servant, member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, wife, and mother, I know that holding fast to laws and principles of good governance is essential. It is vital to feel you can trust elected officials to do their best to meet their obligations, and to feel your best interests are being considered in decision-making and actions.

I want to thank Lt. Gov. Henderson for serving all of Utah with extraordinary integrity at a time when courage and grit seem to be dwindling. I am thankful to know she has our back and remains fully committed to safeguarding our personal information and protecting our elections. She has shown resolve, wisdom, and courage when we need it. Her work is vital, and her example is something we can all learn and benefit from. It will matter for years to come.

Thank you, Lt. Gov. Henderson, for remaining diligent and committed to understanding the law, the data, and your responsibility to safeguard free and fair elections in Utah. Thank you for having the courage to conduct transparent audits, providing a critical path to demonstrate election integrity or gaps, and for explaining results plainly. Thank you for sharing information broadly in media and social media so it is accessible to all. Your resolve to do what is in the best interest of Utahns is apparent and means voters can be confident that in Utah, we are able to vote according to our conscience, without fear of retaliation, participate confidently and fully in our democracy, and trust the outcomes of our elections.

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
