Letter: Triple kudos to these defenders of the Utah Constitution

(Chris Samuels | The Salt Lake Tribune) Emma Addams, co-executive director of Mormon Women for Ethical Government, speaks as plaintiffs from a redistricting lawsuit hold a news conference outside Third District Court in Salt Lake City, Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2025. A judge selected a map proposed by the plaintiffs to be the 2026 congressional boundaries.

Speaking as a registered male voter, I want to commend Judge Gibson, the League of Women Voters, and Mormon Women for Ethical Government. Valiant is not a word I use very often, but it needs to be used now. I appreciate your work in trying to keep the Utah government functioning as the Utah Constitution demands.

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
