Letter: Trump’s right: His trial was political. But only because his crime was political.
(Seth Wenig | AP) Former President Donald Trump comments to members of the media after being found guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records in the first degree at Manhattan Criminal Court, Thursday, May 30, 2024, in New York.
Former President Donald Trump is complaining that the recent verdict in his criminal trial is political in nature.
He is correct, his crime was political, so it follows that the verdict is also political. His crime was to prevent information about his tryst with Stormy Daniels from becoming public prior to the election.
I personally am amazed that anyone voted for him after his Access Hollywood remarks about taking what he wanted from any woman, kissing her hard and grabbing her by her private parts.
Now we know that he sexually abused Ms. E. Jean Carroll, which means he meant what he said about taking what he wanted. We also know that Trump committed tax fraud in his filing his taxes.
Let me repeat myself, “I am personally amazed that anyone would vote for him” for any public office.
