Letter: Trump’s phone logs show a 457-minute gap on Jan. 6 – and nothing happens

During the Watergate hearings back in 1974, an 18-minute gap was found in President Nixon’s Oval Office tape recordings. It led to his resignation.

Recently The Washington Post reported that on Jan. 6, 2021, President Trump’s phone logs show a 457-minute gap – precisely when the insurrectionists had taken over the U.S. Capitol and Trump was known to have been furiously calling various collaborators, including our very own Sen. Mike Lee.

Nixon famously said, “I am not a crook!” But a bipartisan Congress deemed otherwise. Today, with a totally polarized Congress, Trump and his accomplices just smirk. Welcome to 21st century America!
