Letter: Sign-ups for vaccine are a travesty

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Michael Crookston, Davis High band teacher, is vaccinated by registered nurse Bruno Gonzalez as the Davis County School District begins COVID-19 vaccinations for its teachers at the Davis County Legacy Center in Farmington on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021.

I just got a spot for the teacher sign-ups for the vaccine.  Let me rephrase, I barely got a spot.  They are releasing the sign-up emails at 5 a.m. and you have to sign up like you’re in a mad dash to get concert tickets. I guess I somehow expected more than 10 slots per hour at these locations.  This seems like a dribble of help instead of a mass vaccination of people and on par for the competence of the Utah government. What a sham. At this rate, it’s going to take years to get everybody vaccinated.  We need the current effort multiplied by a thousand if we’re going to beat this virus.
