Letter: No opinion content in the e-edition Tribune? How sad.

Tribune Opinion Page

I just found out that letters to the editor and op-eds are not going to be in the e-edition digital format every day. This is the second huge disappointment coming on the heels of eliminating seven-day printed editions.

And “Dream headlines,” another yearly event I always participated in, although not always chosen for publication, were also eliminated this year.

I originally subscribed to The Tribune back in 1968, as I was upset that the Desperate News would no longer include R-rated movies in their publication.

What’s next? But, then again, why am I wasting my time writing a letter to the editor when it won’t be published? Even after 30 days of my last Trumpty Dumpty publication, there is hopelessness. The stages of grief have started.

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
