Donald Trump has divided our country, our communities and even our families. This man’s purpose in life is power and wealth. Nothing else matters. He lost this election and his claims of fraud and wrongdoing are simply a delay tactic to allow the continued milking of his base for contributions.

We now have the Donald Trump version of the “Grand Old Party” with a base over 70 million strong. The Republican Senate and Congress will continue to do his bidding as long as they know they are a tweet away from having their voters turned against them.

It’s time to make Donald Trump irrelevant and it’s time for the GOP to make this happen.

Support free news for Utah

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources. As a nonprofit newsroom, we rely on support from people who believe it matters. Make a donation today to fund local news that serves Utah communities.
