With respect to the current election, I would like to share why I voted for Joseph R. Biden for president. I wanted to vote for someone who would bring our country together, show kindness to all, and run our nation as one, together, and full of gusto. For me, that was Biden.
I am not one to say if you vote one way or another you are stupid, racist, homophobic or “sheeple.” However, I do believe that who you vote for represents the country as a whole. I want someone who represents kindness, togetherness and respect for every individual. I want someone who fights for the common man, empowers women and men, children and adults, people of color, the educated and the non-educated, and everyone in between. I want someone who can show the world that we are one. Biden, in my opinion, can do this.
While I looked at credentials, what they wanted to bring to the table, what they can do for the whole, I also looked at the type of person they were. What it came down to for me was who would be better suited in a time of desperation? Who would show up and hold America’s hand? Who was kind, patient, and meaningful?
I knew that either candidate would have advantages and disadvantages to them winning office, and I knew that either way I would be safe. But what about those who wouldn’t be? I wanted to make sure that my vote was more than just what benefited me, but the whole country. Both men are qualified to some degree, but at the end of the day there is only one who radiated togetherness, and that was Joseph Biden.
