Letter: Goodbye to my morning routine

(Rick Bowmer | AP file photo) Copies of The Salt Lake Tribune newspaper are shown on April 20, 2016, 2020, in Salt Lake City.

In the early 1950s, I had a paper route delivering the afternoon newspaper, the Telegram. As I got older, I bought papers on Regent Street for 5 cents and walked around the city selling them for 10 cents. Then, when I had a home of my own, I subscribed to the Telegram/Tribune.

Now to hear that The Trib is going weekly and being mailed in the afternoon to my home is very sad. My routine for the last 60 years has been to sit at the kitchen table in the morning, drinking coffee and reading the paper in my bathrobe and my slippers. Now in two months that’s all gone.
