Lt. Gov. Spencer Cox prioritizes national politics above his local responsibilities. His endorsement of Trump’s Supreme Court packing ignores further impact on climate change, voting rights and immigration policy, all of which impact Utah residents. He fails to recognize that prudent judgement is the primary qualification of this critical appointment, as Amy Coney Barrett drags along her children to Trump’s COVID-19 superspreader photo op. Utahns should be concerned that Mr. Cox elevates his blind allegiance to Trump’s damaging nationalism above the welfare of our state.
