Do we really need another Republican in Washington who supports President Trump blindly? This country was built on checks and balances, not blind allegiance to a president who demands it. Please do not put Burgess Owens in Congress representing Utah. Please do not vote R because you have always done so.

These demanding times call for extraordinary actions. The picture the RNC painted of the unrest that will ensue under a President Biden, we are actually witnessing now, under President Trump. Numerous Republicans last week marched out on the podium and repeated that President Trump “will keep America safe,” but is that what is happening under his watch?

We need leaders who are not just concerned about getting reelected, but who have integrity. We need leaders who care so much about our country’s democracy and moral and legal codes that they objectively fete out facts from illusion. We need and deserve leaders who work tirelessly and honestly working to protect and improve the lives of all of us and our country. We have that man in Rep. Ben McAdams.

sltrib.com is now free to access — no subscription required. We made this decision because we believe access to trustworthy, independent news shouldn’t depend on what you can afford — especially as misinformation and AI-generated content continue to rise.

Free to read doesn’t mean free to produce. Our reporters show up every day to ask hard questions and hold powerful institutions to account. That work takes resources.
