Letter: Disarm the police

The chant is “defund the police.” That doesn’t mean take the entire police department away, but rather, reimagine how to effectively change the police. I suggest we take away the firearms from the street cops. This is the practice in England. No policeman in London has carried a gun since 1936. This is the first way to stop police shootings.
