Millennia after Paul proclaimed to the Galatians that there is neither Jew nor Greek (etc.), centuries into the Age of Reason, and 155 years after the Civil War, the stupidity of racism is still with us.
The only way to fix racist law enforcement (and non-enforcement), it seems, is not to rehabilitate racist officers but to rehabilitate the systems that let them get away with murder, literally and figuratively, which requires having the right people in charge and journalists and public pressure to ensure that words become action and that the arc of history will in fact bend toward justice.
It doesn’t bend all by itself.
