Thank you for sharing Terry Marasco’s opinion article of May 24. It makes us think of our great declaration. “All men are created equal … with certain unalienable rights,” but not the right to do anything we want.
The “social contract” that Marasco refers to reminds us that we don’t have the right to do whatever we want, but that we should cooperate for social benefits because we are part of society. When we support the social order, it can support us. Even though society isn’t exactly what we wish it was, we should do our part to make it as good as possible.
