Letter: Moving toward a monarchy

(Manuel Balce Ceneta | AP) President Donald Trump glances at the cheering White House visitors and claps his hands as as he leaves the White House for a campaign trip to Battle Creek, Mich., Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, in Washington.

In the House impeachment hearings, ambassadors and constitution experts testified under oath.

The case was made that our president tried to get Ukraine to announce an investigation of the Bidens before funds approved by Congress would be delivered. This was all proved despite the president telling his people to ignore their subpoenas.

Now it will go to the Senate, and no witnesses or documents will be presented and the Senate will vote no proof and the president will claim vindication.

Our congressmen will go down in history as voting for party instead of the country and constitution they swore an oath to.

The Congress will show that they are followers and lap dogs of the GOP, that they are scared of repercussions from the president and the GOP.

I hope Utah voters will take notice of how these sheepish men opened the way for a monarchy instead of a Democracy.
