Letter: South Weber is under siege

Done deal! That’s the South Weber answer to the building of the 74-unit apartment complex on the frontage road by U.S. 89. If you say something enough times, true or not, it’s thought that people will eventually believe it.

I’d guess the city officials are playing their cards by asserting their authority with the now-infamous use of their “done deal" comment and denounce all other claims as fake news.

This whole charade will only continue as long as the city officials responsible for this indignation are allowed to continue bullying “We The People" of South Weber. The city officials’ actions and responses are far from having civility when our taxes are increased to facilitate their not-so-transparent endeavors to pay their unsolicited debts.

The actions of the governing city officials show no respect for the concerns of its residents. They have been conducting city affairs to facilitate carpetbagger investors. South Weber residents need to take action by uniting as a majority to salvage our community and reestablish democracy with a transparent governing body that represents the morals and values of our city.

Gary Collins, South Weber
