Letter: It won’t be any different this time
(Evan Vucci | AP) President Donald Trump speaks to the media as he visits the emergency operations center after meeting with people affected by the El Paso mass shooting, Wednesday, Aug. 7, 2019, in El Paso, Texas.
If we can accept the slaughter of 20 school children at Sandy Hook without any resulting action on gun control, what makes you think this time will be any different?
Our spineless, morally bankrupt legislators are simply waiting for the nation to be distracted by the next big splash. Oh, I don’t know. Maybe something like Donald Trump tweeting an inciteful, childish, false and/or racist tweet.
I’d say we have about another 10 minutes.
