I read the “Utah Inland Port Feasibility Analysis.”
Section 6.0 on “Environment” runs a total of two printed pages. The section contains exactly one quantitative statement that has anything to do with the environment, which reads, “Cargo via rail has a far lighter impact on the environment, as even a single-stack freight train would replace over 110 trucks.”
There is not one word of discussion about the type of materials that will be handled at the port. As part of a feasibility analysis, this environmental discussion is a joke. The powers that be do not want the public to know what’s going on. No wonder people are protesting the port.
I encourage people to read the study and let your elected leaders know what you think.
I applaud Jackie Biskupski for filing suit against this massive miscarriage of justice.
