Imagine we are in America at the time of the civil rights movement. Some clown has just spouted vile racist attacks on people of color and/or their supporters using the worst language of the times. Now imagine our current brave and righteous congressional delegation responds not with condemnation of those hateful words, but with a joint statement about freedom of speech.
The utter cowardly response of our representatives and their Republican colleagues to the hate spewed by President Trump is appalling. Is this an example of “Utah values”? It certainly represents a very low bar for the people of this state and their progeny.
