Letter: Why is there no mention of suicide?
(John Locher | AP Photo) In this Jan. 19, 2016 file photo, handguns are displayed at the Smith & Wesson booth at the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trade Show in Las Vegas.
The Democratic candidates just held a debate on gun violence.
No mention of suicide.
Madonna just stated on Instagram that gun violence disproportionately affects children, teenagers and the marginalized.
No mention of suicide.
Two out of every three firearm deaths in America are suicides. In America, about 70 percent of suicides are white males.
Maybe, just maybe, we should talk about that.
Park the whataboutism, and really, honestly discuss the fact that white men are killing themselves at an alarming rate — and no one seems to care.
