Letter: Thought and prayer goes into abortion decisions

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) Utah Senator Daniel McCay, R-Riverton, speaks during an event put on by Abortion-Free Utah as it launches a public campaign to end elective abortion in the state of Utah during a press event in the rotunda of the Utah Capitol on Wed. June 19, 2019.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, George Pyle. I couldn’t have said it better myself. (“Utah abortion foes lie when they say they are ‘pro-life,’ June 23)

I, too, do not understand these righteous people who care more about the unborn child than the child who lives and breathes today.

As to Sen. Dan McCay’s “inconvenience” statement: I can assure you that no woman looks at having an abortion as removing an ”inconvenient” sliver from their hand. A lot of thought, and, yes, prayer, goes into it before making that decision.

I know. I made that decision almost 30 years ago. And, for me, it was the right decision at that time in my life.
