Letter: Somebody please run against Rep. Chris Stewart

(Leah Hogsten | Tribune file photo) Incumbent Chris Stewart, representative for Utah's 2nd Congressional District, won the nomination at the Utah Republican Nominating Convention Saturday, April 21, 2018, with 74% of the vote.

In an interview aired by ABC News, Donald Trump declared he would welcome election meddling by a foreign government. Even in Utah, where we routinely vote against our own best interests, we know that accepting campaign assistance from a foreign government is a violation of federal laws. Everyone knows that.

Oh, wait.

Except Rep. Chris Stewart, the House Intelligence Committee member from Utah and slobbering, adoring lap dog of Donald Trump.

He said it would be “foolish” if Trump did not illegally accept help from foreign adversaries.

Dear Evan McMullin (or anyone with a heartbeat and 37 brain cells), please run against this appalling fool and put us all out of our misery. Even in Utah we deserve better than this.
