Letter: Rep. Chris Stewart should remember his oath of office

(Leah Hogsten | Tribune file photo) Incumbent Chris Stewart, Representative for Utah's 2nd Congressional District, won the nomination at the Utah Republican Nominating Convention Saturday, April 21, 2018, with 74% of the vote.

In an interview he had on CNN recently, Rep. Chris Stewart sounded like the sound bite for President Donald Trump. His ignorance of history is astounding, since he was part of the prolonged “investigation” of Hillary Clinton and the results thereof. He stands in front of us and says Mueller’s investigation is over and done, while many questions remain unanswered. Who is paying for his words? Just because he is a member of the House Intelligence Committee does not make him intelligent. As a former military officer, he knows his oath of office. So why has he forgotten to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies foreign and domestic”? There is incontrovertible evidence that our election process was corrupted by Russia for the benefit of the president, but he wants to stop looking. All we ask is that you do your sworn duty and stop being a political flunky to money and power.
