Letter: There’s no way to ban guns in the U.S.
(Francisco Kjolseth | Tribune file photo) A woman loads guns during a training session at a gun range in South Jordan.
After every mass shooting, the bleeding hearts come out of the woodwork demanding to ban guns.
Really? And how do you propose to do it?
With well over 350 million guns in the United States, there is no way to recall all of the weapons. Even if 50 percent were able to be successfully turned in, I would bet the other 50 percent would have “mysteriously” been lost or claimed to be stolen, but in reality hidden by their owners.
Mass shootings are tragic, but loss of guns is not the answer. How about requiring every citizen to own a gun instead? Try a different approach and let the citizens police themselves.
