Letter: Consumers beware of DirecTV deception

(Tribune file photo and AP file photo) KSL and DirecTV

The DirecTV satellite website lists NBC, via Salt Lake's KSL Channel 5, as part of its local programming package. This is false advertising.

KSL and DirecTV have a dispute over pricing, and neither Channel 5 nor any NBC alternative has been available since August. There is no end in sight to the dispute.

At least one of the local installers of DirecTV and perhaps others will not advise you that NBC is not available. So beware of the deception.
