Letter: Listen to biologists, not money

Lynn Chamberlain | Utah Division of Wildlife Resources The Utah Division of Wildlife Resources recommended hiking the number of cougar hunting permits for the 2016-17 season. Last year, permitted hunters bagged 371 cougars.

The state recently came out saying we are in a severe drought that is affecting our wildlife. Yet a state agency is increasing the limit on hunting cougars, with no real clue on how many are out there.

But you have to protect the deer and elk for revenue and also for those who raise sheep (even though they are compensated for their losses).

Start thinking and listening to the biologists and not how much money the state can get from deer and elk licenses.
