Letter: Don’t we have enough space cadets in government already?

(AP Photo | Evan Vucci)Vice President Mike Pence speaks during an event on the creation of a United States Space Force, Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018, at the Pentagon. Pence says the time has come to establish a new Space Force to ensure America's dominance in space amid heightened competition and threats from China and Russia.

I read with some interest Alexandra Petri's call for support of the president’s proposed Space Force, and while I quite agree that nothing in the universe could possibly be more important or timely, Alexandra, I don't think you have thought this out to its conclusion.

The demand for space cadets could decimate the president’s Cabinet.
