Letter: Will Utah lawmakers do something about cellphones on the road at last?
(Chris Detrick | The Salt Lake Tribune) A driver uses his cellphone while driving on Interstate 15, Thursday, July 13, 2017.
Hooray. Finally, there is a movement to deal with the problem of using cellphones while driving.
Up until now, the Legislature has failed to take a definitive action to deal with this problem. I can only hope that the effort is not diluted by attaching conditions of enforcement, making it conditional on being associated with another violation.
Perhaps those who are pursuing this effort have the courage and the backbone to see this effort to a successful end that will serve the driving public and benefit us all.
