Letter: Water waste at public buildings
A helicopter makes a water drop on a wildfire in Angeles National Forest above Azusa, Calif., Friday, Aug. 14, 2015. Wildfires racing through drought-stricken Southern California have burned hundreds of acres of land and multiple cabins as the region roasted under a summer heat wave. I am confused. I hear and read about how we need to conserve water throughout the state; that. Utah is so dry and having a serious drought. Why then do I see schools, businesses, cities and parks watering their grounds in the middle of the day during the hottest time and probably the most inefficient time ever to water? Maybe Utah needs to start requiring everyone specific days to water and enforce it. Other states do this and it helps.
