Letter: Romney is just using Utahns to get a long-desired government job

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) The Romney campaign hosts Mondays With Mitt at Veterans Memorial Park in West Jordan on Monday, June 18, 2018, as Senate candidate Mitt Romney visits with supporters and takes a few questions from the dozens gathered at the park.

Utah voters, I hope you’re not going to let Mitt Romney treat you as if you’re stupid.

He runs in the presidential election twice and loses. When Donald Trump was elected, Romney had some of the most vicious words to say about Trump and the American people who voted for Trump. But when Romney was called to the White House to interview for the secretary of state position, he couldn’t have had a bigger smile on his face going into the interview and coming out of it.

Romney did not get the position. He then moved to Utah to establish residency and is now running for Senate. He sure seems desperate to get another government job no matter what it takes, and he’s counting on you to give it to him. From what I know about Romney’s days in Utah, he went to BYU for a couple of years and he oversaw the Olympics, but in neither case did he establish Utah residency.

Please don’t let Romney treat you as if you’re an idiot.
