Letter: Seeing a show at Eccles Theater is still a miserable experience

(Francisco Kjolseth | The Salt Lake Tribune) The new Eccles theater in downtown Salt Lake City prior to opening day.

When the Eccles opened, we signed up for season tickets. At that time, I wrote a similar letter expressing my dismay with the “state of the art“ HVAC system.

The heating and cooling system is just as bad now as it was then.

When you look around the theater, there are many people fanning themselves with their playbills. A friend of ours had to leave a show at the intermission for fear of passing out. The terrible HVAC system makes the whole experience miserable. When I sent a letter to the Eccles Theater, they called us back to say “a lot of people complain about the heat.“

The problem is still there. I suggest that when you go to the Eccles Theater you wear shorts and a tank top.
