‘Utah Politics’ podcast: What Rep. Blake Moore told the Tribune Editorial Board

(Rick Egan | The Salt Lake Tribune) Rep. Blake Moore speaks at a town hall meeting at the Weber County Library North Branch, in North Ogden, on Tuesday, June 1, 2021.

On this week’s episode, we go inside The Salt Lake Tribune and listen in to a conversation with Rep. Blake Moore and the Tribune’s Editorial Board.

Moore spoke with the board earlier this week and touched on Hill Air Force Base, public lands and the future of the Republican Party, among other topics.

Moore also discussed whether he’s getting any push back from within the House Republican Caucus because he voted in favor of establishing a bipartisan commission to investigate the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

“I haven’t been treated differently. I haven’t been forced into anything. I haven’t received a single call,” Moore said.

“I remember talking to (House Minority Leader) Kevin McCarthy and asked if this would affect me being on the Armed Services Committee, which is super important for me and the district. He said absolutely not. That has nothing to do with it,” Moore said.
