Daily number of COVID-19 vaccinations in Utah remain above 20,000

More than 20,000 COVID-19 vaccine doses were again administered in Utah on Friday, according to the Department of Health — which also reported five more coronavirus-related deaths.

Vaccinations reported in past day/total vaccinations • 21,204 / 404,085.

Number of Utahns who have received two doses • 99,160.

Cases reported in past day • 1,211.

Deaths reported in past day • 5.

The deaths reported Friday are • Three women died — one older than 85 in Salt Lake County; one older than 85 in Millard County, and one between 45 and 64 in Tooele County. Two men also died, both between 45 and 64 — one in Weber County and one in Uintah County.

Hospitalizations reported in past day • 335. That’s down 14 from Friday. Of those currently hospitalized, 123 are in intensive care units — six more than on Friday.

Tests reported in past day • 8,264.

Percentage of positive tests • 14.04%. This is slightly lower than the seven-day average of 16.2%.

Totals to date • 353,700 cases; 1,733 deaths; 13,828 hospitalizations; 2,070,190 people tested.
