Layton, Utah • Officials have confirmed that a motorcyclist died after a crash during The Fire Ride on Saturday morning.
A 52-year-old was participating in the annual firefighter memorial that begins at Sandy and ends in Ogden.
At 11:17 a.m., while traveling U.S. Route 89, the motorcyclist became involved in a chain-reaction crash with two other motorcycles near Gordon Lane. The victim, from Tooele County, died en route to the hospital.
