After the weekend’s Bonneville Fire forced a wedding evacuation at the Natural History Museum, one couple’s guests pivoted to a historic backup venue, and made it unforgettable.

It got us thinking: What draws people to weddings in the first place? Is it the ritual, the food, the party — or the moments when everything falls apart and it somehow gets better anyway?
