A 45-year-old woman was found dead at Midvale massage parlor last week in what police called a “brutal and tragic” homicide, and investigators are still asking for information this week that could help find her killer.

Unified first police responded to a “suspicious death” at A+ Massage, located at 7444 S. State St., on Jan 4. There, they found Yuping Jiao dead.

Police spokesperson Sgt. Amyee Race confirmed that Jiao worked at the business. State records indicate she was the business’s registered agent.

Investigators have released scant details about the woman’s death, including how she died.

“Detectives are still actively seeking any tips related to the victim or business,” police said Monday in a news release.

Race said police planned to release a photo of Jiao this week to help generate leads in the case. Anyone with information may call Unified police at 801-840-4000. Tips can be submitted anonymously, police said.
