A father and his adult son were found fatally shot in their West Jordan home, and police are investigating their deaths as an apparent murder-suicide.

The two men were found dead Monday afternoon after police responded to the house near the 47000 West block of Colander Drive for a welfare check.

Neighbors were concerned that they had not seen the 73-year-old nor his 44-year-old son in “several days,” West Jordan Police said in a new release.

Both men lived at the residence but their names were not immediately released as investigators worked to notify relatives. Police said there was no danger to the public and that investigators are not seeking additional suspects.

It was unclear as of Tuesday afternoon whether investigators had determined which of the two men found dead had apparently opened fire. No further information was immediately released.
