Officials investigating death of Utah State Prison inmate

The 57-year-old man was found unresponsive in his cell five days ago.

A 57-year-old man died Wednesday at a hospital, five days after he was found unresponsive in his cell at the Utah State Prison.

Kenny Hall had been incarcerated since 2019 for third-degree felony assault by a prisoner, according to a prison news release.

A spokesperson said Hall’s cause of death is under investigation by the State Bureau of Investigation.
