(Salt Lake City Police Department) A man was shot to death outside this Maverik convenience store at 310 S. 900 East.

A man was killed in Salt Lake City early Friday and police are looking for the suspected shooter.

Salt Lake City police said they received a report of the shooting outside a Maverik convenience store at 310 S. 900 East just after 1 a.m. When officers arrived, they found a man who had suffered at least one gunshot wound. The man died at the scene despite witness and officer efforts to save him, police said.

No information about the man killed had been released as of Sunday evening.

Investigators believe the shooting was the result of “some sort of isolated altercation” between the gunman and the man killed, according to a news release. Witnesses told police the gunman left the scene after the shooting.

Police released photos of the suspect early Friday, which were obtained from surveillance video, and were still searching for him as of Sunday evening. Anyone with any information about him or his whereabouts may call 801-799-3000.
