Two people were injured — one of them critically — when pipes loaded on a semitruck broke free and hit their cars.
According to the Utah Highway Patrol, the semitruck driver was headed west on SR-56 at mile marker 44 in southwestern Utah when he “navigated a corner too quickly” just before 2 p.m. on Tuesday and the truck overturned.
(Utah Highway Patrol) When this semitruck rolled, it lost its load of pipes — which smashed into two cars, injuring the drivers.
The pipes hit two cars, critically injuring one driver, who was flown by helicopter to a hospital. The second driver suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to a hospital.
UHP did not release the names of the truck driver or the victims of the accident.
