Salt Lake police seek help finding hit-and-run suspect

Salt Lake City police are seeking the public’s help finding a man they believe was involved in a fatal hit-and-run on Sunday.

Police said a 78-year-old man was struck by a vehicle at 400 S. 200 West in Salt Lake City on Sunday. The man was taken to a hospital, where he died, and police said the driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

According to a Twitter post, police believe the man was driving a silver Chevy Suburban or GMC Yukon XL with a Utah “In God We Trust” license plate. Police said the car may have some damage on the front end.

Police ask anyone who recognizes the man or knows anything about the case to call 801-799-3000 and refer to case 21-21687.
