Crews battle two early-morning fires

Fire crews responded to two fires in the Millcreek area early Wednesday morning — one at an apartment building and the other at a commercial building.

According to FOX 13, the first call came in just before 2 a.m. at an apartment complex in the area of 3900 South and 700 West. Residents were evacuated and no one was injured, but the building suffered heavy fire, smoke and water damage.

The second call came in around 4 a.m. in the area of 3900 South and Highland Drive. When crews arrived, the mixed-used structure was fully engulfed in flames. Everyone was safely evacuated.

The causes of the fires are under investigation.
